Hello! I have used CCleaner up until now, and love it. However, after I recently formatted my hard drive, I cannot install it anymore! In the installation dialog, everything goes well until I click "Install"...then the installer abruptly closes. Any thoughts?

Hello and welcome to the forum!

I'm not an expert so this is just a guess but do you have the latest version of VB Runtime?

If not you can download it here.

If this doesn't help post back again and there are many people here who will help you.

It's probably the VB like Mike stated. Although it could also be because of installed resident security software such as antivirus, etc.
Complexity of incoherent design.

You shouldn't name the downloaded installer "ccleaner.exe". Name it something else or leave the filename alone when you save it.

(Hint: The installer is not written in VB, so installing VB run-times does nothing for it closing during installation.)
