settings dont save on programs

i use a bunch of programs on my laptop and stuff doesnt save. for instance, the size of the windows, what was in the playlist that i was playing on winamp, and thats all i can think of at the moment... how would i get them to save? they work fine on my desktop...

the programs that you use are supposed to save that stuff. if they don't, it's because they weren't made to.

Perhaps read only .ini files or other configuration files.
Perhaps albeit this sounds strange they aren't writting the data into the registry.
Complexity of incoherent design.
