So for a couple weeks now, my computer has been acting strangely. I've been getting many pop-ups telling me I have a Blackworm virus, or the Beagle virus, or something along those lines. After a little while, I wasn't able to start my computer without it just shutting down right after I log in under my username on Windows XP. I have been using my computer in safe mode since then. Me and my roommate, who is fairly good at computers, have run many virus scans and spyware checks to try to fix my problem, and nothing has worked. We even downloaded something off of the server of my college (it was called "Vundo", I believe)that was supposed to get rid of my problem, and that didn't work. It said it would get rid of the Blackworm virus, and then didn't even find it on my computer.

My friend then suggested this site to me and I thought I would try it out. This is the last step before I wipe my computer clean. Any suggestions on getting my computer back to normal will be greatly apprecitated.

Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't hastily format just yet, as your system may be able to be disinfected!

1. Refer to the Spyware Removal Guide.
2. Next post a HijackThis log in this forum area.

A forum member that's qualified will analyze your log(s).
Complexity of incoherent design.
