I think that it would be cool if we posted monthly updates for things that aren't auto updates.
Avak1924 mentioned in another thread that there is an update for DirectX DirectX 9.0c (April 06).
I don't know if this is a good place to put it, but maybe RR will even pin the monthly updates. (Ex. Pin April when it's April, but unpin April in May and pin May).

all the newer builds just introduce libraries for use with .NET languages. nothing more. it doesn't affect games built with C++ or any other non-.NET-based language. perhaps the reason why it's still called 9.0c

Yeah, you're not supposed to be installing the DirectX SDK. That's why it's not on Windows Update. It's for software developers. It just happens to come with the redistributable (for software developers to put on their product's CD and whatnot).
