Hi Lordoftheweb :)

Not really much you can do there to speed things up, Just one entry that can be removed.

You have the original Windows Messenger running on reboot and also MSN messenger, There really is no need to have them both, it could also mean if you set yourself to offline with MSN then your contacts can still see your online as its logged in with the Windows Messenger. Its really your choice but Windows messenger can be fully removed from your system without causing any problems and it will not effect MSN Messenger in any way.

The best way to do that is by using Doug Knox's vbs file as it also makes a slight change to the registry to stop Outlook Express taking along time to open after Windows Messenger is removed. If you want to remove it then follow these simple steps.

Download the xp_messenger_remove.vbs file Here and save it to your system. Close Windows Messenger if its open, or active in your System Tray. You can also stop it by fixing its entry in Hijack This (Dont fix the MSN one).

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [MSMSGS] "C:\Program Files\Messenger\msmsgs.exe" /background

Once it's stopped, double-click the xp_messenger_remove.vbs file. You will be prompted that Messenger must be closed to continue. Click Yes and then its removed,

Your I.E start page and shell next entry doesnt seem like a valid address but with it being your own name I assume you made the changes :) If you want to restore them anytime then fix both entries in Hijack This.

The dumprep entry indicates some error has happened on your system :

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [KernelFaultCheck] %systemroot%\system32\dumprep 0 -k

dumprep.exe is from Microsoft and is their fault logging software. Once serious errors happen on the system this program will write the details to a text file and request the information be sent to Microsoft. The entry should remove itself but it can be fixed if it remains in the log.

All The Best

Andy
