Its been a long time coming, but it looks good so far it also uses the exact same method that i use in eraser i.e. DOD 5220.22-m 3 times.

It maybe something my end but it did also do it in the previous version, when its cleaning the progress bar moves along at it should do but it gets to the end even tho its still cleaning. It then goes back to the beginning and goes along again.

I have a suggestions which maybe be able to be implemented before the current Beta goes finale, its in the suggestions thread which is here.

A very big THANK YOU for this release, and all others. This eliminates the need for me to buy Tracks Eraser Pro, or similar. I'm off to spread the word....

I just wanted to say that you are very good person for doing this for everybody. Also, I can actually take advantage of my 1 gig of RAM on my computer because of you. My computer is running faster all the time and I want to say that if you were here and I had a million dollars I would give it to you but I'm not rich at all. :D I'm really low on money.

This update rules, MrG! I'm loving the Windows HotFix Uninstaller cleaner; excellent update, no doubt about it! Keep up the great work!

G
i uninstalled the old version and installed the new beta.
it made two programs and their shortcuts disappear and there were no remnants left behind that i could find.

i reinstalled them from zip files in firefox downloads.
the shortcuts went back to the exact spot they were in before deletion on my desktop.
they are cpuid and crystal mark.

that was very odd.
running xp pro sp2 fully updated.
on an asus a7n8x e deluxe and an amd XP3200+ with crucial dimms 1 GIG X 2.
ANY THING ELSE YOU NEED TO KNOW?

While switching to Options->Cookies, an error dialog appears.
It says : Error cleaning Firefox cookies. \n62 - Input behind EOF.

Can you give a briefly description about the 3 secure file deletion methods ?
What's the different, or what do they do ?

The font size in the Issue list panel is still too small.
Here's the screenshot.

I just downloaded this beta and got the same result as Englishmen...using the secure method with 3 passes, I had to cancel the cleaning to stop the progress bar after it had "performed" about 9 passes and was still going. The cleaning had been done.

Just to clear up a few progress bar questions.

With the Cleaner function, the progress bar will continue to the end and then restart, it's purely a way to show you something is happening. I'm aware it's a slightly non-standard way to do things, but to have a proper 0 to 100% progress bar would slow down the cleaning a lot.
I'm going to look into restyling the way it displays.

With the Issues function it operates as a normal progress bar.

Excuse me for not being an expert on computers . . .

But what is the Beta version?

I searched for the latest update and got a message saying I had the latest version . . . but it's not the Beta one.

Do I need something special to download the new version . . . or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks

ccleaner keeps getting better,i only trust 2 reg apps now, ccleaner and tuneup but i love free ones so that makes ccleaner the best of them.beta means unfinished product, final means official product that is not beta, beta and alpha are similar terms for unfinished products, usualy alpha is first when software just comes out then beta is used afterwards then rc 1 or 2 or 3 are used, hope this clears it up.

OK . . . great . . . thanks for the help.

How much longer before the "fully-tested" version comes out?
