Folks- I run Windows Vista Home Premium SP2 with current updates. Recently when running the registry cleaner with all items checked it hangs at 91% complete. I narrowed the "problem" down to the muicache option and when running without it CCleaner completes...when running with just muicache selected it hangs at 97%. Don't know what this means. I can display the muicache entries with regedit. Suggestions? Thanks. -Gary

CCleaner version?
Have you tried to reinstall CCleaner, or do you use portable version?

Something else to try is to troubleshoot this by temporarily disabling your antivirus real-time protection, and then see if CCleaner can complete the registry scan. Reason being I know many antivirus' scan everything that CCleaner is looking for in the registry and can significantly slow it down.

and of course, when it comes to registry cleaning, keep the advice in my signature (below) in mind
ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION
DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF.
Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark)
ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T.
CCLEANER, RECUVA, DEFRAGGLER AND SPECCY DOCUMENTATION CAN BE FOUND AT www.piriform.com/docs
