Well,
I can say I've had my problems with spyware and viruses in the past when I wasn't educated very much about either of those subjects. Over the course of abour 5 years or so, I've tried ALOT of Anti-Spyware and Anti-Virus programs. and below I see as "The Best Of The Best" of the programs that optomize your computer.
* AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition ^#
* Ad-Aware SE Personal or Pro Edition ^#
* Spybot Search & Destroy #
* CCleaner #
* MRU-Blaster #
* Atomic Clock Sync #
* Spy Sniper ^
* HijackThis #
* PScanner #
* Advanced Disk Cleaner #
* Orphans Remover #
* LSP-Fix #
* xpy #
* Diskeeper ^
LEGEND:
^# = Free or Pro Edition
^ = Only Pro Edition
# = Only Free Edition
And there it is, all of the programs that I do have currently have on my computer and what helps my computer run like the day I took it out of the box!
HOPE I HELPED!!!!!

Ok I dont want to burst your bubble but you have a couple of stinkers in there.
This one is on the spyware warrior list:
* Spy Sniper ^

AVG is ok but it dosent catch as much as it should. I recommend you give this a shot(1 year free etrust):

Please provide links to the websites of the following(I suspect that they are junk as well):
* xpy #
* PScanner #
* Orphans Remover #
These arent even antispy programs
* Atomic Clock Sync #
* Diskeeper ^
Last but not least your missing a couple of essential ones.
Spyware Blaster

Ewido

WOW MAN! HARSH! All I'm trying to do is help!
I got most if not all of those programs off of Download.com, so go there and search for it. And Spy Sniper is a very good program, I scanned my computer and it found almost 200 things that were hidden in my computer that none other found. Maybe, you are thinkin' of another Spy Sniper.

And all I'm trying to do is help you and the other users know what programs are good and which ones are not.

Those are known as false positives. Just because it found something dosent mean they were bad. Go to this site and see why they say its bad.

I agree with rridgely, at least research the programs before suggesting them, especially if they're listed on Spyware Warrior.
All that's really needed are the following:
Anti-Virus:
eTrust EZ Antivirus
...or fully functional feature rich free alternatives; AVG Anti-Virus FREE Edition, Avast Antivirus Home Edition, AntiVir Personal Edition.
And a periodic scan with say once per month with Microsoft Windows Live Safety Center.
Anti-Malware:
ewido anti-malware, Ad-Aware SE Personal, Spybot S&D, Trend Micro CWShredder, SpywareBlaster, Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool, Microsoft AntiSpyware
Firewall:
Choose your favorite. A list of firewall downloads on FileHippo.com
Web Browser (safer than Internet Explorer):
Mozilla Suite, or Mozilla Firefox, Opera
And last but no least:
Common Sense® v1.0
