Ccleaner and avast?

Hi plzzhelp, and welcome to the forum.

I think this is more the fault of Avast than CCleaner. For whatever reason, Avast never seems to change it's version name in all locations.

I'm using Avast 6, yet the Program Files folder is still named Avast 5.

There are also a couple of locations in the registry, which still label my version as 5, but there is one location which names it as version 6.

Consequently, CCleaner thinks I have version 5 and 6 installed ...

I'm not sure how you would fix this without manually altering these anomalies.

That's my take on this as a normal CCleaner and Avast user, but if any of the other guys have a better answer, I'm sure they'll contribute.

:)

A fresh clean install of Avast may do the trick, but seems completely over-the-top for a simple version number listed in CCleaner.

That's my way of thinking. It doesn't really bother me at all.

However, I'll have a look at changing mine out of curiosity.

EDIT: Cancel that. Too messy changing the various locations without maybe upsetting Avast.
