I can't start my XP machine in Safe Mode, when I press the right 'F' key for Safe Mode all I get is a load of numbers and symbols scrolling up the screen but it never loads into Safe Mode. This has always happened ever since this install of XP in April. Anyone know a fix?

Why not go to Run - msconfig - Boot.ini (something like that) - tick safe mode.

apply/O.K it, then it will give prompt to restart. To get out of safe mode, do the same again, just untick the box.

I'll try that but I think it will just do the same as now e.g. hang.
