Sounds nice, however I think an easier solution would be to go Saturn's route and use dent resistant plastic body panels.
Complexity of incoherent design.

An interesting thing I read once about Fieros (which had entirely plastic bodies I believe) was that in an accident the plastic would shatter, which dissapated the energy of the collision away from the car's structure and hence the occupant. It seems you would be safer with a metal body, but apparently that might not be the case.

so basically the paint is like those toys that you use to have as children, like you would put them in cold water and they would change colors but to change them back you would put them in warm.
