Last night I ran Recuva.....looking for pictures that had not been deleted....and after about 2+ hours....Recuva tells me..."Out of Memory".
Why?  How do I get around the running out of memory error?  Remember am newbie...not technically inclined, but, looking for photos that I am unable to replace.  Thank You very much (in advance) for Your help.  :)

Are you using 32bit Recuva?

It could be that it reached the 32bit memory limit

I have Vista 32bit...so, I guess my answer is yes...running 32 bit Recuva.  Looked at Microsoft spot U sent me too...as with most Microsoft things for me....clear as mud.
So can I maybe limit the amount of photos that Recuva looks for at 1 time?  Then go back later & check for more?

Thank You.

The out of memory error is caused by 32bit limitations for memory paging, so I suppose yes, that would be the workaround.
