So is it worth getting then, despite the deals they have been doing with spyware companys?

This new MSAS was also posted under the Sony Rootkit thread too a day or two ago.

Which is a shame, but then again with a variety of different scanners as Tarun pointed out, everyone should be fine. I still won't use it for real scanning, Arovax does so much more.

Yes I have. However, MSAS ranks like ZoneAlarm on my system meaning it's on a fine edge between staying on my system and being uninstalled. If it's annoying restart/shutdown/logoff issues happen too much it will be uninstalled.

MSAS causes quite a slowdown on my system, no restart/shutdown/logoff
issues, but I have decided to uninstall it. Besides, it has never detected a
thing on my system but Adaware and Spybot have. And I don't mean cookies
either. Would Arovax be a good replacement?

If you're talking about their antispyware I don't know, it's still rather new however it will probably improve given some time. I'll probably try it again sometime next year.#17 OFFLINE

It depends. If you're on about the actual scanner, maybe not, leave it for a bit. But if its the shield, I think the opposite. It has stopped so much spyware entering my PC its amazing, and when I use my on-demand scanners little is found now, its a great program, well worth getting.
