K. W. Ortmann Posted September 14, 2010 Share Posted September 14, 2010 Last week, I ran Windows Cleanup and Defrag. on "C" drive. Since I liked Piriform CCleaner, I decided to try Defraggler. I was surprised to see it showed "C" was 48% fragmented and started a defrag. operation as I retired for the night. In the morning it was only 41% finished. I stopped the operation and looked at the files. There were less than a dozen with more than one fragment and it took very little time to do them one by one. Is Windows defrag. that bad or is there a different definition of "fragmented" that I'm not aware of? "C" is a 250GB drive w/ 85% free space so why so slow to defrag.? Please educate me. eL_PuSHeR Posted September 14, 2010 Share Posted September 14, 2010 In my humble opinion Defraggler 2.x is one of the slowest defragmenters (at least in full defrag mode). I have tried dozens of them and Defraggler is the slowest. I like Piriform apps. very much though. I am looking forward to incoming version 3 which I think it will address a lot of issues.
