I just ran a scan and included the "custom files and folders" option in the scan. In the custom files and folders, I accidentally included a file which has some important documents in it. After the scan, the folders in the file were all empty. I ran a system restore of before this happened, and the folders are still empty. Is there any way I can retrive or un-do this?

Thanks

A file recovery program would have a good chance of getting back your files if used soon, before they get overwritten. This one is supposed to be pretty good, and it's free:

PC INSPECTOR File Recovery http://www.pcinspect.../UK/welcome.htm

I just tried to run that, and I am having some trouble. Here is a copy of the screen that is troubling me, under Select drive, I have C selected, and under destination, I have another file in C, and it says the source and destination file are identical and i cannot do it, what can I do?

thanks

(copy of screen, I put numbers in areas if you can help me fill it out)

PC INSPECTOR insists that you save recovered files to a different drive. You could save to another partition, if you have one, or to a CD or floppy, or a USB Flash drive, I believe.

Did you read the program's help files? Click the question mark on the program's welcome page to access them.
