i just got my new 3.4 ghz prosscer when i went to view system information on the first line 3.4ghz and then on the secound 2.79ghz.
What does the 2.79ghz mean and which is my computer using.

The second line is the actual speed the processor is working at. To confirm this: Click Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Information and check the processor speed.

I'm assuming it is an Intel processor, if so you need to check here to try and slove your problem.
