Hello everybody,

Yesterday I tried to make some settings in the CC.
I wanted to add, that CC cleans automatically all files and folders like
- C:\Windows\$NtUninstallKBxxx
- C:\Windows\$hf-mig$

CC could not do this, I think the reason is that this files are hidden.

Then I tried to delete some files in C:\Windows\Temp\*.* ==> negative I don't know why.
Also the C:\Document ...\User\Local...\temp\*.*
Although I added this paths to CC (Include-Option), when I click Analyze ==> this files don't come up.

But C:\Windows\Prefetch works fine.

In my opinioon this folders are important to clean.
Is there any chance that Piriform will include this in the program??

Thanks and regards

Ruediger

Ruediger a.k.a. Jungner,

DO NOT DELETE "C:\Windows\$hf-mig$ !!!!!

According to my information: If you do delete that folder then your computer WILL breakdown !!!! Then you have to re-install the entire Windows system software again and all your data stored on your computer disk is lost !!!

Update: Deleting $hf-mig$ WILL mess up the Microsoft's automatic update service. So, DO NOT DELETE that folder.

I've deleted C:\Windows\$hf-mig$ on many systems over the years and never had any problems with Windows Update or it breaking the machine.

Hello Willy2,

I'm system-admin and host a few hundred systems.
I am deleting this folder always by hand since years. Nothing happened, I have only more DiscSpace, REALLY!
When you have problems with the WindowsUpdate, it mostely is a problem of an broken DLL-Entry or a overloaded DownloadDirectory.
Magic help for this issues you can find here
It's a wonderful homepage for German Windows-Systems, where you can find a lot of Tools **direct download link deleted by moderator**, mostly supported by Microsoft.

Regards
Ruediger
