Damaged system files?

It is possible that Defraggler - or any other defragmentation app - can damage Windows system files if the computer restarted - because of bad memory - under defragmentation, right?

I can't answer for fat32 (although it's never been a problem for me) NTFS keeps track of data created or moved thus if your computer shuts down or reboots your file system should not suffer any ill effects.
