I have just downloaded/installed and run "Speccy", as it seems to be a tidier, simpler application then the one I have used (SiSoft Sandra).

This application (Speccy) correctly identifies my Motherboard and CPU, but it does not show the Temps/Fanspeeds etc. that I was expecting.

Sandra provides both CPU and Motherboard Temps and CPU and Chassis Fanspeeds - the basics for an environment monitor as well as a load of other stuff I don't need.

Speccy provides a really nice clean interface that can be cleaned of clutter/expanded as you see fit. It has found a temp sensor that sandra does not display for one of my disk drives. How do I configure Speccy to find the CPU and Motherboard Temps and CPU and Chassis Fanspeeds?

Try running as administrator? I think the information it displays is limited if you do not.

Erik,

Thanks for the reply - I had forgotten that I had posted this - almost 6 months ago!!. I was running as administrator. I think it is just that Speccy doesn't support my V. Old PC.

I have found another alternative to Sandra that does the monitoring I need - FanSpeed. This is a little more basic than Speccy, but does all that I need - AND it does find all the environment monitors on my PC that Sandra sees.

But thanks for the thought.

I suppose if there are any "Forum Administrators" there, then this topic can be closed now. It would have been nice if someone could have replied with a simple "No"!

Hah! I didn't see the date of your original post. I'm slightly abashed now..

So I tried my own advice last night, and of course it did not work.

Interestingly enough, two weeks ago (prior to re-installing win7) I was using Speccy and it showed the temps of all 6 of my cores individually, which was very sweet. After the reinstall, now I cannot see my cpu temp at all. I didn't do anything different, so I'm a little confused.

Anyway, I'll check out the programs you mentioned...thanks!

Thanks for the suggestion, I may try that.

The application I am using is SpeedFan NOT FanSpeed as I said in my lasp reply.
