CCleaner does a great job except for Firefox. I am no longer able to see some animated gifs on web pages, or other gifs that are part of pages. The gifs just show up blank.

Similarly if I go to http://maps.google.com using firefox since running CCleaner the window that normally shows the maps is gray and blank. The words in the upper right hand corner "Map Satellite Hybrid" and "500 mi 500 km" appear in the lower left hand corner, as well as the google logo in the lower right. The maps DO NOT appear and if I type an address the popup is shown with words but all the images are blank.

Any ideas. I saw other posts indicating I should shut down firefox and run CCleaner twice or clear the cache but these efforts didn't work. I also tried to unistall firefox and reinstall it but that also didn't solve the problem.

Can you provide any help???

Thanks,

Brian

Try pressing F5 while viewing those pages in Firefox. This will reload the page from the net instead of viewing it from the cache.

Thanks, but that didn't work. Can't seem to get this resolved. There are intermittent gif 's that don't show up. I have attached a picture. If I click on the image that is supposed to appear and click properties it tells me the image is [I]missing?Attached File  Clipboard.jpg   14.39K   92 downloads

Can you elaborate? I checked all firefox settings and there is no setting for preloading. Still unable to view maps.google.com and several other images in firefox after running CCleaner. :(

Its not a default setting its a seperate program that can be downloaded. I figured you might be using it which would mean firefox would be open while running CCleaner.

Try this:

Go to tools>Options>Web features and make sure that the boxes that say enable java and java script are checked along with the box that says load images. Also make sure that the box that says "load images for originating site only" is unchecked.

Also what extensions do you have insatalled?

I'm having the same problem with Netscape 7.2. Netscape 8.0 seems to work okay, but it lacks the email support (i.e. Netscape Messenger) so it does not meet my needs. Any suggestions for fixing this problem within Netscape 7.2?

Close the browsers completely.(look in task manager to make sure there is no processes running). Then run ccleaner twice.(just the cleaner)

It only happens if you run ccleaner with the browser open. You really should dump netscape. If you need email and a browser get firefox and thunderbird. If you need them combined than get the mozilla suite(same as netscape but more secure due to updating.)

Anyway choose what you want here:
