Love this software!

My apologies if this topic has been posted before...I am a newbie in here.

When running the software, it defrags the whole drive, but when I reanalyze it shows that there is percentage that is not defragged. These files are very small usually 1 or 2 , under 100K. How do you get rid of these files so the hard drive is 100% defragged? Do I have to do them individually?

It impossible to have a 100% defragged file system because when you start using your computer i.e. web browsing, copying or deleting files it becomes fragmented again.

It depends on what they are. If you could post the names of the files, someone might know how to deal with them. If you Google the file names and find out what they are, that also might help you figure out what can be done, if anything.

Thank you everyone for your post. I looked at the files and they are just one file, with a majority of them under 100K. I click on them and defrag them. I would have thought that the HD would have been 100% defragged or close to it. I still show 4% with all these little files as being fragged. This software does work, I like the display of knowing what is being defragged. Guess I am old school.

These files are your system restore files, which are not accessable during defrag.
pagefile.sys is also not accessable while the system is running Windows.

Not all files are available to be defragged. Pagefile.sys is only defragable in DOS. Microsoft has a utility called PAGEDEFRAG but it does not work at the present on Vista or Windows 7.

The only files you really want to be concerned about dragging, are the ones you use regulary to run your programs, this version of defraggler does defrag those files. The rest of the files are usually not needed unless you are rolling your windows back using a restore point.

You can also use CCleaner and delete a lot of the old system restore points, that are no longer useful to you and it will remove alot of the red cubes the next time you defrag your hard drive.
