Hi everyone,

Has anyone received an "Error 1717: The Interface is unknown" during clicking on the Remove button for a System Restore point?

I committed this as a bug but no one to reply.

Have a nice day.

A brief google on 1717s suggests it might be related to WMI. Have you tried it after a reboot so your WMI service is in a stable state? If it is WMI there may well be a corresponding entry in your Windows Event Log.

After restart, all restore points were gone. I think CCleaner does the job correctly, besides it gives this error message.

If it is WMI, I think it's Windows that's giving you the error, not ccleaner.

Yes it was WMI after long research. Thanks alot. But could developers at least take this into consideration?
