Please help - I've run the ccleaner and am having the following problems:
1 - only the 'administrator' user account is accessible - all other user accounts do not open. Windows XP control panel just shows a blank screen on the user account page
2- it is impossible to copy and paste text - word files open and say that they cannot be 'registered'
3 - windows will not perform searches
There may be other problems as well.
I backed up the registry before running ccleaner and have merged it successfully, but it has not solved any of the above issues.
I hope someone can help.

Hi daz, and welcome to Piriform.
Sorry to learn of your problems, although I can't see CCleaners registry clean doing harm like that, especially after you successfully merged the backup OK.
From the research I've done on your problems, and I could be wrong here, it could possibly be a dll registration problem, or you may have a malware infection.
I would suggest going to this link and following the instructions ...
http://forum.pirifor...showtopic=20120
... followed by posting the appropriate logs in our Spyware Hell section.
The second option would to re-register dll's by using Dial-a-fix, but I would recommend going down the first to have your PC checked out for a virus infection.
Of course one of the other members may recognize your symptoms and can provide a fix.
