Yes and MBAM should detect eBay Shortcuts as a malware called: Adware.ADON

It's just the eBay Shortcuts add-on, just untick it during installation to opt-out of installing it and you'll be safe and clean.

When it comes to installing I pay attention to every non-EULA screen, especially any with check-able boxes. And I always choose custom install over standard install.

No idea where you are getting that from fluff, Unlocker has been a safe clean program for years, and only now does it include a optional shortcuts (Yes I've installed this version and can unselect the shortcuts just fine)

MyWOT: http://www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/ccollomb...comment#comment

Only 2 posts complaining about ebay shortcuts "infested with ebay shortcut" lol

SiteAdvisor: http://www.siteadvis...ree.fr/summary/

Only one person posted twice in Site Advisor claiming "Trojan".

Just uninstalled v. 1.8.7, installed v. 1.8.8...unticked the ebay shortcuts box. No alarms sounded, no ebay shortcut installed.
Just uninstalled v. 1.8.8, reinstalled 1.8.7. No alarms sounded, no ebay shortcut installed.

Both versions put a file in the program folder called eBay_shortcuts_1016 dot exe. Scan w/ MBAM was negative, scan w/ Avast! was negative. If you click on it it installs that shortcut, but still no alarm. I just deleted it. Also the ebay shortcut from the desktop.

changelog from the authors page says

"Unlocker 1.8.8 - 26/10/2009
- Improved behavior: Improved the way DLLs are unloaded.
- Promotional feature: Added fully optional shortcuts to eBay during the installation. Simply untick "eBay shortcuts" in the choose components page during install if you do not wish to have those."

Guess its safe. :D

edit, 28 Oct: Not sure if v. 1.8.7 installs ebay or not. Couldn't restart, so it may have just not been removed. Doesn't matter much, just wanted to be accurate.
The SLIM version is always released a bit after any new version; when it is it will be HERE :-)

You have to manually unpack installers for MBAM to even detect the eBay Shortcuts. See here for reference about MBAM's detection of eBay Shortcuts in particular my post in there.
