I am new to this... know just enough about computers to be dangerous. My question is- What happens if I check the "HOTFIX UNINSTALLERS" and START MENU SHORTCUTS? Does this remove the hotfixes that have been superceeded or does it remove all hotfixes? Same thing for Start menu Shortcuts. Any help/advice is greatly appreciated.

Read here for in depth explanations: http://docs.piriform.com/
HotFix Uninstallers when ticked removes the uninstall files that allow you to uninstall hotfix patches by Automatic Updates/Windows Updates/Microsoft Updates. They're not technically needed if your computer is running fine and you have no need to uninstall a hotfix patch. However if you tick that box and then click Run Cleaner you won't be able to uninstall any old hotfixes. You'll have to run the registry cleaner after that as there will be left over uninstall info left in the registry. If you have a big enough hard disk it's one of those advanced options you can ignore ever using!
Start Menu Shortcuts when ticked removes broken shortcuts located in the start menu that are linking to a program or file that no longer exists on your system, or has been moved to another location.
