I'm trying to scan an external (back up) hard drive (Maxtor) which is on my home network, to which my PC is connected via a router.

However, I cannot seem to access this drive with Recuva. The path options under Recuva seem to be limited to the hard drives on the PC, and removable disks which connect via USB.

Can anyone help?

Using Windows XP Home, and have no trouble accessing the external drive through Windows Explorer.

Many thanks

Max

How about the Recuva Portable version? Sounds like what you're looking for: http://www.piriform.com/recuva/builds

Sounds worth a try. Thanks for the suggestion.
