Windows 7 may be Microsoft’s most anticipated product ever. It builds on Windows Vista’s positives, and eliminates many of that OS’s negatives. It adds new functionality, too—all in a package that is less resource-hungry than its predecessor.

And whether or not you're upgrading from Vista or skipping it altogether and moving up from Windows XP, you'll need to know how to make the most of it in your environment. Here are 77 tips and tricks to get you there.

- Make Windows 7 faster
- Get more done with Windows 7
- The best Windows 7 shortcuts
- Securing Windows 7

  • On this site "Windows 7 Compatibility Center" will open. It's a matter of days now. It will list devices and applications that are compatible with Windows 7. There's a small presentation up now: http://www.microsoft...er/default.aspx
  • On this site Microsoft offers "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor". It scans your PC to see if it's ready for Windows 7, and tells you about any known compatibility issues. Link: http://www.microsoft...51-2497c146af15
  • On this site Microsoft presents anti-malware programs - "Windows 7 consumer security software providers". The companies listed provide consumer security software that is compatible with Windows 7: http://www.microsoft.../windows-7.aspx

Also a fine article on ZDNet:

Upgrading to Windows 7 - Your questions answered!
Here are the base system requirements for Windows 7:

1GHz or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) CPU
1GB RAM for 32-bit OS, 2GB RAM for 64-bit OS
16GB hard disk free space for 32-bit OS, 20 GB for 64-bit OS
DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver
The rest: http://blogs.zdnet.c...ardware/?p=5788
