Microsoft today said it will deliver its largest-ever number of security updates on Tuesday to fix flaws in every version of Windows, as well as Internet Explorer (IE), Office, SQL Server, important developer tools and the enterprise-grade Forefront Security client software.
More on Computerworld: http://www.computerworld.com/s/article/913...esday_next_week

A yet an other critical update next Tuesday concerning Adobe Reader and Acrobat:
Adobe is planning to release an update for Adobe Reader 9.1.3 and Acrobat 9.1.3, Adobe Reader 8.1.6 and Acrobat 8.1.6 for Windows, Macintosh and UNIX, and Adobe Reader 7.1.3 and Acrobat 7.1.3 for Windows and Macintosh to resolve critical security issues. Adobe expects to make this update available on October 13, 2009. This update represents the second quarterly security update for Adobe Reader and Acrobat.

Among other issues, this update will resolve a critical vulnerability in Adobe Reader and Acrobat 9.1.3 and earlier
What they write actually sounds serious - more on Adobes site: http://www.adobe.com/support/security/bull.../apsb09-15.html

Why the heck are people still on Adobe 7? They should expect exploits. If I was Adobe, I wouldn't update anything older than 8 at this point. Other than that, I'm happy for the news.
