I lost all my icons on my desktop including start menu, etc. How can I restore all them to the desktop? I have Windows XP.

Hi Patrica :)

What led up to this event? Did you just boot up and they were gone, or had you been customising things?

Have you had other problems such as virus/malware issues?

Does this do anything

Right click on the desktop -> Arrange icons -> Show icons on desktop

Can you see your taskbar?

Reboot the computer. If your icons and start menu still dont show then try the below:

On your keyboard press ctrl+alt+del.
Click File>new task. In the box type explorer.exe.

Your start menu should load, if not then something is corrupt or possibly a virus.
