When using Defraggler (latest version) after some time my pc shuts down by itself - desktop all blue with a lot of text telling me to restart the computer and to desinstall all programms lately installed. This happens only when starting the defraggler. What is the matter?I hope someone can advise me.

Can you tell us which operating system you have please?

Also try running defraggler in debug mode and attaching the log here in a post.

I'm using XP SP3

Is this the first time you have used defraggler, or did you use it before without problems?

Are you unsure about how to run defraggler in debug mode?

In the meantime I have come to the conclusion that it is not Defraggler that causes the shut-down. I have tried the XP
deframentation routine and another defragmentation program - in both cases the computer shut down after a while. Do you think that in spite of this it makes sense to try the debug mode?

Can you get the error info on the screen and post it here?

Does a defrag complete if you do it in safe mode?
