Add option which can be used to delete last failed ControlSet from registry.
Just read value "Failed" from key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Select
(just to be sure perhaps check that it really has different value than Current, Default and LastKnownGood)
and then delete controlset with same number.
Finally set "Failed" value from key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Select to 0
