Hello all,

Today I updated CCleaner to version 2.32.993, and upon scanning my registry, I was prompted with an error stating, "No Disk - There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive D:".

It seems like CCleaner is confusing DVD-ROM drive (D) with my Hard Disk ©.

I am sorry to hear that you having problems with the registry cleaning.

We need your help as we haven't been able to reproduce the problem.

Let's find out which entries are displaying the error message:
1 - Please, uncheck all entries in the registry screen,
2 - Check one entry and press "Scan for Issues",
3 - Did the entry selected in step 2 show the "No Disk" error message dialog?,
if the answer is yes:
3a. What happens when you press "Continue" (you will probably have to dismiss the message error a couple of times)?
3b. Does the scanning progress?
3c. Once the scanning is over, are you able to fix issues?
3d. Once you fix the issues if you run Scan for Issues again do you still get the error message dialog?
4 - Uncheck item checked in number 2,
5 - Repeat the process for the next entry...

How many entries showed the dialog?

Thanks for your help!

I have to click cancel or continue four times.

3c. Once the scanning is over, are you able to fix issues?
No issues were found.

3d. Once you fix the issues if you run Scan for Issues again do you still get the error message dialog?
As long as "ActiveX and Class issues" is checked, the message appears.

Hi

Thank you for your help.

We are working on a fix and would like to know if you can help us by testing this interim version so we can confirm that the bug is fixed.

If you can help let me know so I will send you a private message with the new build of CC attached.

Thanks

Yo MrT,

Glad to be of service. I love CCleaner. I use it regularly and have never experienced any problems, until I installed the latest version.

When I remove the check marks from "MUI Cache" & "Active X and Class Issues" I don't get an insert Disk error message. Otherwise I do.

Thanks in advance for your assistance on this. Keep up the terrific work. B)

I my self don't have problems with the Registry but with the Cleaner.
Now I installed the english version of 223.993 and the "Windows - Kein Datenträger""-issue appears if I enable "System: Desktop Shortcuts":

Ok MrT I've had this problem which I've talked about in the Announcements. Once the message shows I have to click Continue 3 or 4 times before it clears. If I uncheck "ActiveX and Class issues" it doesn't show just the same as Copper Orange has said. So how come the Cancel doesn't cancel the scan and Continue doesn't continue with the scan? It does continue scanning after the message has disappeared.

I've asked this before but no one has answered. Will CCleaner run under /debug mode? Recuva and Defraggler do so why not CC? I've tried it but it doesn't leave a debug log file behind. ;)

I unchecked each option (in the Registry cleaner section.

It was the "Installer" feature that gives me the No Disk error.

I am using an older version of CCleaner for now.

It does, and the log should be dropped in the installed CCleaner folder.

This is the debug command:
"C:\Program Files\CCleaner\CCleaner.exe" /DEBUG

Complexity of incoherent design.

Now I installed the newest v2.23.999 and everything works fine.
That I could help a little was great honor for me.

THX :)

Hi there,

As you already know there is a new version of CCleaner released to address this problem.

I want to thank everyone for being so patient and supportive.

I also want to thank SLH for testing CCleaner for us! It was certainly not "little" as you said, but a huge help!

Many Thanks

Hi,

I'm on Windows 7 and downloaded the new version of CCleaner 2.28.1091 and I am getting similar errors that are talked about in here. I get the error "There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive \Device\Harddisk2\DR2.
If I click "continue" about 8 times, the program comes up and works fine. I do not have anything clicked in my registry.

Also, when I use the "update" on CCleaner, it automatically uses Internet Explorer and my default browser is FireFox. Anything I can do to fix that?

Thanks for any help.

Shirley
