I use Windows XP (SP3) and just installed the latest version of CCleaner (2.23.993).

Since you first introduced the search in Uninstall I had this problem: When I backspace or however way delete text in the Search field, even though the text does technically get deleted, the screen just doesn't update, and when I start typing it just overlaps the previous deleted text. :o

Thanks in advance and further good luck on your great job we all got to appreciate extremely!

Hi LGFN, and welcome to Piriform.

I run XP SP3, and the feature works fine for me.

That's not to say you don't have the problem, but it suggests it may be something on your PC causing this glitch.

I haven't seen this issue mentioned before, so I'm at a loss as to what the cause could be, or even where to start.

First of all, have you tried a complete uninstall of CCleaner, and reinstall afresh? You can save all your settings by selecting "Save all settings to INI file" in "Options\Advanced", and then copy the "ccleaner.ini" file in "C:\Program Files\CCleaner" to another location, and then copy it back after the new install.

Do you have any sort of theme installed on your machine, or any customizations affecting text size or style?

If any of the other members have a clue about this, I'm sure they'll jump in with suggestions.

Hi Dennis! Sorry I didn't notice that you posted this post! I don't know why, but I thought that I have subscribed to this post to get updates by email! So sorry for letting you speak to the bare walls! I noticed this post when I just downloaded the newest CCleaner (v3.00.1303) and the problem isn't yet solved!

I will try now completely uninstalling and reinstalling the program. Will let you know.

Thanks!

Okay, I just did it, uninstalled and reinstalled it, but to no avail! The problem still persists!

Are you using a theme on your XP box? have you edited the graphic settings at all?
ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION
DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF.
Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark)
ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T.

I don't use any theme, and I don't remember changing any graphic settings.
