I have recovered some accidentally deleted Word documents from a USB stick. Recuva reported them as being in excellent condition with no overwritten clusters. They appear to have recovered successfully. However I get an error message when I try to open them in Word: "Word experienced an error trying to open the file. Try these suggestions: Check the file permissions for the document or drive; make sure there is sufficient free memory and disk space; open the file with the Text Recovery converter".

I have tried all these, but with no success!

Anyone have any ideas??

Try opening with Wordpad and you may be abel to save the raw text.

You can also open Word, go to the document and to the right of the file name at the bottom of the window is a drop down menu. Try Recover Text From Document. If it works it will bring up some formatting commands too, but just salvage what you need.
