Mixing Tracks/Music any free software availiable?

Hi
Does anyone know of any free software for mixing music tracks etc ? I would like to make my own cd(personal use)
of favourite tracks that i can blend in with each other and have no pauses etc B)

You could check out Audacity. I haven't used it myself, but it seems to get pretty good press.

Sounds like you need something with cross fading like what Winamp can do on playback. Don't know about doing this as an output to a burnable audio CD though, then there's the issue of having to edit out nearly all of the silence beforehand.

I think I will have a go at Audacity ,Tom, it will have to be a project to learn as I go along ! I think I need a newbie course in music jargon !!

Also don't forget about another small free audio editor called Wavosaur which can use VST plugins.

Just looked at that one Andavari !

I like that it has tutorials,that might be a good idea for me to get an idea how it all works
