prefetch and %temp% to fix windows prolbems

When my computer was being worked on the windows person told me to type prefetch in the run prompt and enter prefetch and delete everything in the folder and delete the stuff in the %temp% folder and it helped my computer a lot it seemed, so I was recommending ccleaner deletes the stuff in this folder 2. Since they haven’t done that yet I recommend trying it and commenting about if you liked the effects or not please comment :)

Welcome to the forum but trust me ... you don't want to open this can of worms.

You should read the many previous threads on the Prefetch issue. :)

Indeed and as for the temp folder, CC already cleans them.

Quick question, what about the folder \documents and settings\yourname\local\settings\temp

Cleaned if Windows > System > Temporary Files is selected. Cleaning behaviour is modified by selecting/deselecting Options > Advanced > Only delete files in Windows Temp folders older than 48 hours

Note that there may be some temp files that are locked in use by the system.
