Running Defraggler (latest version as of this date) on 250 Gb C: on Windows Vista system.

Before running Defraggler, I ran CCleaner to remove all temp files, temp internet files and RECYCLE BIN files. Both CCleaner and normal Recycle Bin checks indicate that Recycler is empty.

When I run Defraggler, however, it clearly indicates it is defragmenting files from the $Recycle.bin.

This machine's primary application is Adobe Photoshop, and has been used to burn DVD slide shows, so some of these "deleted" files are fairly large AVI and dvd image files.

Any idea what's going on?

I believe CCleaner removes the contents of the recycle bin but not the hidden files within the drive:\RECYCLER folders. I manually delete my RECYCLER folders once a week. And yes, these files can be very large.

What you could do is go into CCleaner options, click the Includes button and enter the path to the RECYCLER folder(s) that you want to have it empty during a clean.
