I am used to the old Internet explorer 7 address box that lists the previous sites u have visited when clicking on the the down arrow to display them. I downloaded the new internet explorer 8 and I want to know if there is any way to turn off the suggested links that include favorites and browsing history. I dont mind the sites that I have visited being displayed, I just dont like the new layout with the favorites and browsing history being listed. Much help is appreciated. Thanks

I can't help you out with that.

But I can tell you that IE8 is known for slowing down other applications.

I'm not sure if this is what you mean but try Tools > Suggested Sites.

Did anyone of you, who had installed IE8, return to IE7? I've been playing with the idea to re-install IE7....

I removed it in mere minutes of having it installed. It brought every program on my system to a complete crawl, and many others have reported that issue too. It's still puzzling why it doesn't effect some systems with slowdowns though.
Complexity of incoherent design.
