Hi,

Can't seem to get Defraggler to defrag most ? (if any?) of Kaspersky IS 2009 files in Vista hm prem x64.
Defraggler is added to KIS trusted apps & I shut down KIS & all other apps during defrag.

I run it in administrator mode. KIS is only app Defraggler won't touch. Assume has something to do w/ KIS self protection, even though it's not running during defrag?

Should mention KIS prgm files are installed on D:, but the KIS files it can't defrag (data bases, etc.) are stored on C: by default.

Any others seen this or have suggestions?

From what I've read you need to go into settings and disable self protection while you defrag, and then remember to activate it again.

The first suggestion I found was as you stated, that you need to add the defragger module or exe to K's trusted zone, trusted application, with "do not monitor application activity" checked, although that won't always work apparently.

Thanks, that did it. I've received 2 emails (so far) from Kaspersky support on this w/ no resolution. It's mind boggling they didn't know the reason KIS files weren't being defragged. I even mentioned issue of KIS self defense.
