For a week or so now, adobe flash player has not worked. I have tried all the fixes I can find from adobe. I have tried several of the variations for > tools > internet options > security, including the ones recommended at the adobe site. Now am back at default.

There is apparently a problem with the recent flash updates, from the comments over at the adobe help forum. pwillener is working pretty hard, but I don't think its getting fixed.

edit: It's fixed, shockwave flash player was disabled in > tools > manage addons. Don't know how it got that way.
