Why is Defraggler (& CCleaner) not show up in All Programs?

Hi Firefighter, and welcome to Piriform.
On my XP machine both CCleaner and Defraggler (and Recuva) are in the All Programs menu.
Have you checked anything during install to not have an entry in the "Start Menu", which is the same place?
You could rectify this if needed by just installing again.

That's exactly what I did.
When I saw the start menu I thought that it meant that it would be running in the background and show up on my system bar.
I will re-install.
