Hey! My first post on the forums

So I got loads of old registery keys on my PC and I think thats one of the reasons why it has been slowed down lately

The problem is that I'm kind of afraid to remove them because I have some nasty experiences with Reg editors before. Once I accidently deleted runDll32.exe and none of the exe files on my PC wouldn't open .

Thou I could reinstall windows if I happen to mess up something, but since the PC isn't my own (broken motherboard in the old one) and other family members are using PC as well to storage photos etc. So I can't really let that happen.

Well then I decided to post those errors to here in a text file which you can see down below (I think).

Now I'm asking that could some check up the list and tell which gategory or files are completely safe to remove without causing some serius software problems to my PC.

Hi Striangle, and welcome to Piriform.

I don't think any of us could go through that list and give you a definitive answer as all our PC's are individually finicky. What breaks one, may not necessarilly break another.

Firstly, I would suggest downloading and installing a registry backup program called ERUNT. It's pretty simple to use, but ask if you need advice on that.

Secondly, with any registry cleaner, follow the default dialogue and make a backup before removing anything. If there's a problem, you can merge the backup back into the registry, and you will also have an ERUNT backup of the entire registry which can be a real life saver.

Thirdly, can I suggest unchecking all the "Issues" boxes except one, make a backup with the CCleaner dialogue, and then scan and clean.

If all's well after a day or two, check the next box, and so on. Eventually, you can get rid of all the dead stuff CCleaner finds, and if there is a problem it can be easily rectified with one of the backups. Then you could probably start using the registry cleaner in a more straightforward way.

If you do it step by step, with backups, then it should be straightforward, and there's plenty of folk on here to help out if you need it.
