every time after i run ccleaner and delete what it finds then windows defender starts scanning and gives a message that it has not scanned in several days even when it has.

Yes, CCleaner deletes history in WD. Therefore WD warns the scan is needed. That's the reason I have unticked WD for cleaning (Applications -> Objects).
