Inside CClean there is

Registry Icon when you click on that

Scan for issues when you click on that

It will sacn and then you will see Fix Selected Issues

When you click on that

Do you want to back up changes to Registry

If you choose YES one of the choices is DeskTop

I saved to DeskTop

a few days later when all seemed to be working I decided I didn't need the Registry that was saved any more and I clicked on it to Select and then Delete. Well the OLD registry setting Loaded.

DeskTop should NOT be a choice as a place to Save Registy

The default choice is ''my documents''

You chose to save it to the desktop, the ccleaner program chooses ''my documents''
