Installed IE 8 and having a problem as follows
On each occasion when I close the browser a message appears saying ''Explorer has stopped working''. Within a short space of time another message appears saying ''Windows is checking for a solution to the problem'' It then finally says ''A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution available''.
My problem is how do I find out which program might be responsible for causing this problem
Question - if a solution is available where am I likely to find the answer.
In the m/time can anyone advise a possible solution. It is very annoying. Should I return to using IE 7
I am running Vista Home Premium SP1
IE 8 Explorer

If you look around you will see there are quite a few similar problems with IE8.
Some folk cannot install it, some cannot use it and some cannot uninstall it.
If you use safe mode with networking do you still get the error?
If you disable IE addons do you still get the error?
Anything show up in the event viewer for the same time as you get your problem?

I'd say return to IE7 with that type of issue. If you look around these forums, and the web in general you'll discover IE8 is causing problems on some systems - while other systems aren't noticing any issues.
Hi Guys
Thanks your input. Appreciated
H/ever with a little of persistance the problem appears to have been solved as follows:
Tools / internet options / advanced / reset ie settings.
After carrying out the above not now receiving messages which appeared previously
Tks
