This is a problem that started recently. Whenever I click on Check for Updates in the Help menu, I get the normal dialog box from Opera saying that I'm using the latest version. Then an error message from Opera pops up saying that an error occurred during download (could not validate file)...
So what's the problem? This happens when Opera automatically checks for updates too.

This sounds like a topic to be started on Opera's forums doesn't it? Since you are using an alpha product and all. Not trying to be mean, but I don't know how many people use Opera here, let alone Opera 10 Alpha. I use Opera myself but am on 9.64 and can't even get CCleaner to save specific cookies yet

There's always an exception to the rule. I'm that exception.

Yeah guess I should have posted it in Opera's forum, I just didn't feel like making a whole new forum account for this problem.
I was hoping somebody would be using 10 Alpha.

You can expect anything with an Alpha version Ice, and the developers probably couldn't, as of yet, tell you what the solution is.
Still with V 9.64 here as well.

I guess I can live with this problem until Opera releases a new alpha.
Or I might just have to go back to good ol' Firefox.

I'm hoping they release a Beta of version 10 soon.

According to that, it looks like a Beta should be released any day now.

I'm betting beta doesn't come around till August/September.
