Hi all,

Currently running Vista Home Premium 32bit and the newest version of CCleaner. At the top CCleaner reports my CPU frequency as 3.00GHz but I'm really running it at 4.2GHz. Was wondering if there was a way to report my correct frequency rather than the frequency of the CPU at stock. Here's a screen shot:

All help is much appreciated

I've seen 2 different styles of reporting from CCleaner...

On 1 hand, CCleaner reports my desktop's CPU as 2.64Ghz (if I can remember correctly -- I'll confirm when I get home this evening) which is the overclocked speed. On another hand, my laptop most of the time runs at a lower frequency 1.1Ghz-1.6Ghz than it's rated frequency of 2.4Ghz. However, CCleaner still reports it as 2.4Ghz. Maybe CCleaner can't report anything below the rated speed but can report higher? I'm interested to see any information on this matter.

Well I would assume that CC gets this info from the registry.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Hardware\Desciption\System\CentralProcessor\0\ProcessorNameString

Mine is Intel® Pentium® 4 CPU 1.70GHz and thats what CC shows. ;)

That would make sense. Never knew where to find that until today. Thanks Keithuk! I love this forum, I learn something new (whether it be related to Piriform products or not) everyday.

CCleaner on my desktop at home merely says 3700+ (the processor model), not the frequency... And that's the same way it looks in the registry. So I believe Keithuk is 100% correct.
