what does HTML I-frame mean

From my prespective, winvista club is a very good forum for all things windows related.
They have helped me and many others in the past. Excellent hints and advice!

It is the current rage for malware purveyors to hack a site and add a IFrame in a page to re-direct users to malicious sites.

avast! protects users from known infected sites and I imagine other anti virus applications do the same.
