Help my defective Harddrive

My hard drive is pretty new with around 450GB but i ran a diagnostics utility and it saids my hard drive is defective so how do i fix it?

If the diagnostics utility says it's defective, speak to the manufacturer immediately and get that thing returned. Who made the drive and what utility are you using?
There's always an exception to the rule. I'm that exception.

What type of defect is there, i mean what was the exact defect message that was displayed on your monitor screen
