when i run CCleaner it closes itself without removing spyware and what not, any suggestions on how to fix this?

CCleaner is not a spyware remover.
If it is closing soon after you open it could it be that you have ticked 'close program after cleaning' ticked under advanced options.
Is this the first time you have used CCleaner?
Are you having any other problems?

ah didnt realise i had that box ticked, been using it for years but only upgraded it the other day, cheers!!
